Simon Bull gained early recognition for his finely worked etchings and watercolours; however, his work took an explosive new direction in the early 1990's with vibrant colours and bold, expressive compositions. It was this new ability to work with colour that was to bring him widespread international acclaim and produce the signature look that was to make his work instantly recognizable. Like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, the rich and vibrant style for which he has since become world famous began to find expression, to find a voice.
